Six Questions Andy Biggs Must Answer About His Dangerous Record

9/22/26, 12:30 PM

Today, Andy Biggs will be desperately attempting to revive his flailing, floundering campaign at 11:00 AM on the Capitol’s Senate Lawn. While this press conference is the closest fantasy Biggs will get to his first 100 days as governor, he does have a real record of raising costs on working families and driving grocery, gas, and healthcare expenses to all-time highs.

Here are six questions Biggs must answer about his troubling record with 15 days until early voting and 42 days until Election Day:

  1. Why haven’t you signed the new bipartisan discharge petition to release the Epstein Files? You were one of only two Republicans on the committee to vote against releasing them, then refused to sign the original bipartisan discharge petition — dismissing accountability as a "gotcha game" and "PR stunt."

  2. Why do you think Arizonans should continue to feel the pain at the pump and the grocery store for a war you continue to support? You have repeatedly voted against efforts to end or restrict U.S. involvement in the Iran war as Arizonans face higher gas and grocery prices.

  3. Why do you keep changing your explanations for voting to protect predators and pedophile cult rings? As Senate President, you blocked bipartisan legislation protecting underage girls in Colorado City from sexual abuse and forced child marriage under Warren Jeffs, later admitting, "I was the Senate President. I knew what was going on." You've also voted against tougher penalties for child prostitution and spousal rape.

  4. Do you still believe tariffs are "a brilliant economic strategy" and that there's "no inflation," even as Arizona economic leaders call tariffs a tax and Arizona households pay $2,200 a year? You've voted to protect and expand Washington tariffs while claiming there's "no inflation" and insisting tariffs are "not inflationary."

  5. Why are you trying to burden Arizonans with a 23 percent sales tax on everything they buy when they're already struggling to make ends meet because of your cost-hiking agenda?  As a state legislator, you cosponsored legislation for a higher state sales tax, and in Congress you championed a 23 percent national sales tax, doubling down even after your campaign was confronted about it.

  6. You abandoned Arizona for Aspen, Colorado, on primary election day to beg the Republican Governors Association for support, so why aren’t they backing your campaign? The RGA committed millions trying to elect Kari Lake in 2022. Does the fact that they haven’t committed financial support to your campaign indicate that your dangerous record makes you a weaker candidate than Kari Lake?
