Biggs Costs: Five Days, Five Ways Andy Biggs Is Making Arizona Families Pay More, Day Two: Sky-High Cost of Healthcare

7/23/26, 9:00 PM

Copper State War Room is launching its “Biggs Costs: Five Days, Five Ways” press release series this week, detailing exactly how Andy Biggs' Washington agenda is driving up prices for Arizona families. Day Two: Sky-High Cost of Healthcare.

Andy Biggs has repeatedly voted for the cost-hiking agenda that is making healthcare unaffordable and inaccessible for Arizonans.

  • Biggs voted to slash healthcare for over 200,000 Arizonans so far, directly closing eight local health care clinics, shuttering one hospital in Tucson, and putting an additional eight rural hospitals at risk of permanent closure.

  • Monthly healthcare premiums increased 30 percent after Biggs voted to strip tax credits away from over 400,000 Arizonans, and his subsequent votes against bipartisan efforts to reverse the damage and lower costs.

  • Following this premium cliff, Arizona suffered the third-highest drop in Affordable Care Act enrollment in the entire country, enduring a staggering 29.5 percent drop in coverage.

Former Republican Gov. Jan Brewer warned that “people will die” as a result of the Washington budget law’s healthcare cuts. Healthcare experts warned that this would represent an “unmitigated disaster” for working families. Despite this, Biggs called the Washington budget a “good thing” and pushed for “the more cut approach.”

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Arizonans are paying more money for worse healthcare because Andy Biggs sold out families to rubber-stamp Washington's cost-hiking agenda. One year later, Arizonans are still paying for it with deep cuts, higher premiums, and hospital closures.”

All week, Copper State War Room will continue highlighting the five key ways Andy Biggs has raised costs and made life more expensive for Arizonans. Missed yesterday’s release? Catch up on Day One: Sky-High Cost of Groceries.
