What is Copper State War Room?
Copper State War Room is a rapid response project that will hold extremist politicians in Arizona accountable for their toxic and dangerous agenda ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert are racing to see who is the most extreme candidate in the gubernatorial primary, even at the expense of everyday Arizonans. They are all on the record cheering for the out-of-touch DC budget that rips away healthcare from 365,000 Arizonans, causes rural hospitals to shut down, raises costs, and kills jobs for thousands of Arizonans.

THE EXTREMISTS
Meet Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson,
and David Schweikert
Former Freedom Caucus Chair
Andy Biggs

Andy Biggs is one of the most extreme politicians in America, and would be a disaster as governor. He’s spent years attacking affordable healthcare, fighting to block Medicaid expansion in Arizona, and trying to fully repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would rip healthcare coverage from millions and gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions. He pushed false election claims to try to overturn the will of Arizona voters, and was even accused of helping plan the January 6th rally that led to the violent attack on the Capitol. Biggs’ record is too dangerous for Arizona and would take our state backward.

Karrin Taylor Robson is billionaire corporate developer and career lobbyist who will say or do anything to fulfill her political ambitions. She’s most well-known for burning through $20 million of her own money just to lose to Kari Lake in the 2022 primary, and now she’s trying to buy another election. Desperate to hold onto Trump’s halfhearted support of her flailing campaign, Taylor Robson is happy to sell out Arizonans if it means she gets ahead. She backed the GOP budget that blew a $3 trillion hole in the deficit while ripping away healthcare from Arizona families and giving tax breaks to billionaires like herself. Showing how out of touch she is with the more than 60 percent of Arizonans who made their support for reproductive freedom clear, Taylor Robson wants to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest. She’s not in this for Arizonans—she’s in it for herself.

David Schweikert has been a longtime advocate for some of the worst ideas in Washington, DC – including slashing Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. He was found guilty of 11 separate ethics violations for diverting campaign funds to pay for lavish vacations, Super Bowl tickets, first-class flights, and even his own dry cleaning. After crafting the scheme to gut healthcare in favor of tax breaks for billionaires, he mocked Arizonans who are worried about losing their healthcare as “bedwetting and whining.” Schweikert voted for tariffs that are raising costs on Arizonans, and then took credit for the higher prices working Arizonans face at the checkout line. He wants to ban abortion with zero exceptions for rape and incest, and threaten IVF. And he’s spread dangerous conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and said that the insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol on January 6th had “no malice in their souls.” From corruption to attacks on healthcare and reproductive freedom, Schweikert has shown Arizonans exactly who he is – and why he can’t be trusted as governor.

Here’s where they stand on the issues:
Ripping Away Arizonans’ Healthcare:
-
Andy Biggs said, “I agree with the more cut approach,” advocating to kick more Arizonans off their healthcare than already in the GOP budget bill, which he called a “good thing.”

-
Karrin Taylor Robson called the GOP budget bill that kicks hundreds of thousands of Arizonans off their healthcare a “huge win” and “historic."

-
David Schweikert was an architect of the GOP budget bill to gut healthcare for 365,000 Arizonans, then literally slept through the final vote.

Supporting Tax Hikes
on Arizonans:
-
Andy Biggs called Trump’s tax-hiking tariffs a “brilliant economic strategy” and said that the tariffs were “already working” the same day the stock market crashed.

-
Karrin Taylor Robson endorsed Trump’s tax-hiking tariffs, saying, “Keep fighting, Mr. President!”

-
David Schweikert cast the deciding vote to support tariffs — and even bragged about helping design the very price hikes Arizona families are paying today.

Banning Abortion With
Zero Exceptions:
-
Andy Biggs called abortion “heinous genocide,” and cosponsored a bill that defines life beginning at conception, which would outlaw abortion nationwide with zero exceptions and jeopardize access to IVF.

-
Karrin Taylor Robson pledged to enforce the extreme 1864 ban described as a “near-total abortion ban” that would make it a “felony punishable by two to five years in prison for anyone who performs one or helps a woman obtain one.” She also supported an extreme abortion ban in Texas that had zero exceptions for rape and incest. If she had her way, doctors who perform abortions could be treated like criminals and sentenced to prison.

-
David Schweikert cosponsored a national abortion ban with zero exceptions six times and said that women who get abortions “hate that baby” and “hate the country.”

Selling Arizona Farmland
to China:
Defunding Public Education:
-
Andy Biggs cosponsored a bill to abolish the Department of Education, which could throw schools into chaos by laying off teachers and shortening the school year, jeopardize funding for over 250,000 Pell Grant recipients, and cut up to nearly $1 billion in funding for K-12 education.

-
Karrin Taylor Robson complained that “we continue to put money into our school system” and said “I know that students can achieve more with less money.”

-
David Schweikert joined the crusade to dismantle public education, declaring the Department of Education “unconstitutional” and backing its elimination.

Putting Dangerous Conspiracy Theories Ahead of Arizonans:
-
Andy Biggs pushed false claims of election fraud, schemed to overturn the will of Arizona voters, and even reportedly helped plan the January 6th rally that led to the violent attack on the Capitol. Biggs’ own brothers took him to task for spreading lies about the 2020 election, saying he is “partially to blame” for the insurrection at the Capitol. A former Trump aide accused Andy Biggs of seeking a pardon for his role in the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

-
Rejecting the will of Arizona voters, Karrin Taylor Robson said that the 2020 election was not “fair” and that the “wrong guy is in the White House.”

Protecting Sex Traffickers

-
Andy Biggs voted against a bipartisan majority to subpoena the Epstein files, reversing his previous claim of supporting transparency.

-
Karrin Taylor Robson callously dismissed releasing the files as merely a “distraction” and said that she “stand[s] with what President Trump has said,” choosing her own political ambition over transparency and justice for victims.

-
David Schweikert voted against releasing the Epstein files, protecting pedophiles and child traffickers instead of standing with victims.
