Biggs Costs: Five Days, Five Ways Andy Biggs Is Making Arizona Families Pay More, Day One: Sky-High Cost of Groceries

7/22/26, 12:00 PM

Copper State War Room is launching its “Biggs Costs: Five Days, Five Ways” press release series this week, detailing exactly how Andy Biggs' Washington agenda is driving up prices for Arizona families. Day One: Sky-High Grocery Prices.

Andy Biggs has repeatedly voted for the cost-hiking tariff agenda that is driving up grocery prices across Arizona.

  • Analysis shows that American families have shouldered 90 percent of the tariff bill themselves, paying over $2,200 more since the start of 2025.

  • The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the June 2026 Consumer Price Index, showing another consecutive monthly increase in overall prices — part of a continued trend of skyrocketing grocery and beverage costs hitting families and businesses alike.

  • Expert economists have said "very few products haven't been affected by tariffs," which is why Arizonans have paid over $2,200 more for goods and services, according to a Joint Economic Committee report.

Rather than standing up for Arizona families who are struggling to afford groceries, Biggs has stood by Washington's cost-hiking agenda. He voted to protect and expand the very tariffs that are driving grocery prices to all-time highs, even calling them “a brilliant economic strategy.” As Arizonans pay more at the checkout, Biggs argued that the tariffs are “not inflationary,” then claimed that Washington has “tamed inflation,” and said he would like to “explore [tariffs] more.”

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Andy Biggs voted for the tariffs making groceries more expensive for Arizona families, and he still refuses to admit the damage. Week after week, Arizona families pay the price at the checkout line because Biggs put Washington politics ahead of them.”

All week, Copper State War Room will continue highlighting the five key ways Andy Biggs has raised costs and made life more expensive for Arizonans.
