Andy Biggs’ Support for Iran War Pushes Arizona Diesel Past $6 — Again

9/11/26, 1:00 PM

Yesterday, the Arizona statewide average for diesel broke $6 for the second time this year, as the Iran war that Andy Biggs continues to support drives fuel costs even higher. Diesel prices also topped $6 nationally for the first time ever. It's the latest milestone in a spike that began in April, when Arizona saw the steepest diesel price jump in the country — nearly 70 percent — pushing prices to record highs and driving up costs for anything that moves by truck.

Three months ago, Biggs told Arizona's Family he believed there was "an incredibly high likelihood that this [war in Iran] gets resolved in the next few weeks." Instead, the war recently passed the six-month mark, and as one local FOX10 anchor put it, "tens of billions of dollars later, there's no end in sight."

Biggs personally cast the deciding vote to keep the U.S. in that war, and hasvoted against bipartisan efforts to bring fuel costs back under control four additional times. The Washington Post found that the war is costing the average American household an extra $1,000.

Even after admitting fuel costs were climbing, Biggs said he was more worried about avoiding a political misstep that might embarrass the president than about easing the burden on Arizona families.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Arizona diesel just hit a record high, and Andy Biggs has his fingerprints all over it. Biggs has repeatedly voted to keep the war in Iran going, and six months later, Arizona families and businesses are still paying the price every time they fill up.”
