Andy Biggs and David Schweikert Vote To Keep Gas Prices High for the Third Consecutive Time
6/4/26, 5:00 PM
Yesterday, Andy Biggs and David Schweikert voted against a bipartisan resolution to end the war in Iran that has been causing Arizona gas prices to rise nearly $2 in the last three months, hitting new all-time highs in statewide diesel prices and hovering near $5 for regular gas.
Arizona families have paid an extra $2,200 for goods and services, including $457 more in transportation costs alone, which is one of the highest increases in the country. And when fuel and diesel costs spike, it drives up prices across the board, from groceries to everyday goods, further squeezing Arizona families.
Despite explicitly being called out by leaders across Arizona, both Biggs and Schweikert again voted against providing cost relief for working families across the state.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Andy Biggs and David Schweikert were each the deciding vote against a bipartisan measure to lower gas prices, and Arizonans have paid the price at the pump every day. This is the third time Biggs and Schweikert have voted this year to send gas prices to all-time highs, and Arizona families won’t forget their cost-hiking records this November.”
