Questions Andy Biggs and David Schweikert Need To Answer in Tonight’s Debate

Tonight, Andy Biggs and David Schweikert will finally face off one-on-one as they argue over who can further rubber-stamp Washington’s cost-hiking agenda onto Arizonans.

This primary has been characterized as “downright nasty” and a “street fight,” as the candidates trade barbs over who is more extreme. Schweikert’s campaign has made clear that these fights were simply a “warm up, or an appetizer, for what's going to come,” and we look forward to witnessing the back-and-forth tonight.

Here are the questions that Andy Biggs and David Schweikert need to answer tonight:

1. How can Arizonans trust you to lower costs when you have voted for and defended cost-hiking tariffs each and every time?

   
   

2. Both of you voted for the war in Iran on three straight occasions, leading to gas that costs around $5 per gallon. How long do you believe Arizonans should pay higher gas prices because of you?

   
   

3. Why did you vote to raise healthcare premiums and cut Medicaid for hundreds of thousands of Arizonans, which put several rural hospitals at risk of closure?

   
   

4. Why should Arizonans trust you to certify the 2028 presidential election when you will not say who won Arizona’s presidential election in 2020?

   
   

5. Both of you have a history of supporting a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest, despite Arizonans overwhelmingly voting to pass constitutional protections for abortion. Which efforts to restrict abortion would you support as governor?
