Schweikert Turns Primary Into “Street Fight,” Blasts Biggs’ “Record of White Supremacy and Anti-Semitism”

In a new report, Arizona’s Family discovered that Republican gubernatorial candidate David Schweikert distributed a campaign mailer holding opponent Andy Biggs accountable for documented affiliations with white supremacist and antisemitic groups.
Schweikert’s latest, “downright nasty” offensive informs voters that Biggs "hangs with racists," citing Biggs' endorsement of candidates who bragged about owning Mein Kampf. This follows a recent radio interview where Schweikert highlighted Biggs’ ties to the militant white nationalist Proud Boys as a key difference between the two.
The Republican primary has consistently been a bitter fight between Biggs and Schweikert. Schweikert has mocked Biggs, saying, “Some of us actually do the work, and some people want to be Twitter stars.” He’s accused Biggs of running on “resentment and grievances,” arguing that GOP voters want an “actual conservative.” Meanwhile, Biggs’ allies have intensified attacks on Schweikert, filing a campaign finance complaint against him for a questionable transfer of funds from his federal account to his gubernatorial campaign.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Arizona’s Republican primary for governor is getting nastier by the day, and it’s only going to get worse. No matter who emerges from this messy, chaotic primary, the reality is both Biggs and Schweikert have the same deeply out-of-touch record of voting to jack up our costs and cut our healthcare.”
