“Twitter Stars” and “Big Boy Polling”: Schweikert’s Entrance Sets Off a New Round of Infighting
10/2/25, 6:00 PM
David Schweikert’s entrance into the Arizona GOP gubernatorial primary has thrown gasoline on an already bitter fight, sparking new insults between him, Andy Biggs, and Karrin Taylor Robson.
Even before announcing, Schweikert dismissed Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson as weak, saying donors showed him “big boy polling” that exposed their serious vulnerabilities.
Since then, the punches have only escalated:
Schweikert blasted Biggs and Taylor Robson for running on “resentment and grievances,” claiming GOP voters are looking for an “actual conservative.”
A Karrin Taylor Robson staffer criticized David Schweikert for having “a well-documented history of opposing President Trump” — despite her own well-documented history of being a notorious anti-Trump donor, including calling Trump a “fashion don’t” and donating to two of his 2024 primary opponents.
Schweikert mocked Biggs, saying that “some of us actually do the work, and some people want to be Twitter stars.”
Biggs ally Tyler Bowyer piled onto Schweikert: “The polls show Andy beating David in David’s own district. That’s how bad it is for him in his own constituency.”
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“With Schweikert’s entrance to the governor’s race, this already crowded primary has turned into an all-out brawl, with all of the candidates ratcheting up their attacks. Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert aren’t offering solutions for Arizona families, rather, they are too busy lobbing petty insults at each other. The only thing uniting the GOP field is a desperate contest to see who can lurch furthest to the extreme, no matter the cost to Arizonans.”
