YUMA – Today, Yuma County Supervisor Lynne Pancrazi, working parent Jonathan Valencia, and Yuma County Democratic Party Chair Xanthe Bullard denounced Andy Biggs’ Washington-first, cost-hiking agenda that has directly raised grocery, gas, and healthcare costs on Arizonans. Five months ago, Yuma leaders called out Biggs’ price hikes at the same gas station, and costs have only gone up.
This is the third stop of Copper State War Room’s final “Biggs Costs” Tour, 12 days out from Election Day. You can read more about the first stop in Tucson HERE or previous tour stops HERE.
Biggs voted six times for the war in Iran that caused Arizona fuel prices to hit all-time highs at nearly $6.50 for diesel and $5 for regular, while trying to lie to Arizonans that "gas prices already dropped.”
Biggs pushed for cuts to Social Security and Medicare, as well as raising the retirement age to 69 years old.
Biggs voted to protect and expand cost-hiking tariffs that caused groceries to hit all-time highs, which he praised as “a brilliant economic strategy. Biggs has claimed that there is "no inflation," said that the tariffs were “not inflationary,” and argued that Washington has “tamed inflation” and “brought everything back down.”
Biggs wants a 23 percent sales tax hike on everything Arizonans buy, meaning higher costs on everyday purchases like groceries, clothing, school supplies, and household essentials. He has called this new tax his "most passionate" tax policy.
Biggs voted to cut healthcare for over 200,000 Arizonans, raise monthly premiums by 30 percent, and wants to abolish Medicaid in Arizona (AHCCCS) entirely. His votes directly closed nine local healthcare clinics, shuttered one hospital in Tucson, and placed an additional seven rural hospitals at risk of permanent closure."
Yuma County Supervisor Lynne Pancrazi:
“I served in the state Legislature with both Andy Biggs and Katie Hobbs. I can tell you that Andy Biggs had extreme views when he served in the state Legislature, and those views haven’t changed.”
Working parent Jonathan Valencia:
“[Andy Biggs] said Washington has ‘brought everything back down.’ I invite Andy Biggs to sit at a kitchen table in Yuma, look at a single parent's grocery receipt, and tell them that everything has come back down.”
Yuma County Democratic Party Chair Xanthe Bullard:
“Five months ago, I stood in front of this exact sign, at this exact gas station, to call out Andy Biggs for raising costs on Arizona families. I said then that his Washington agenda would keep making life more expensive for Yuma families. And that is exactly what happened.”
