Biggs Costs: Five Days, Five Ways Andy Biggs Is Making Arizona Families Pay More, Day Three: Sky-High Cost of Gas

7/24/26, 6:00 PM

Copper State War Room is launching its “Biggs Costs: Five Days, Five Ways” press release series this week, detailing exactly how Andy Biggs' Washington agenda is driving up prices for Arizona families. Day Three: Sky-High Cost of Gas.

Andy Biggs has repeatedly voted for the cost-hiking agenda that is driving up gas prices for Arizona families.

  • Biggs owns the higher gas prices Arizonans see at the pump because he cast the deciding vote for the war in Iran and has voted against bipartisan attempts to lower costs at the pump four straight times now.

  • Fuel prices rose nearly $2 in three months, hovering between $4 and $5 for regular gas and hitting Arizona families with an extra $457 in transportation costs alone — the fourth-highest increase in the country.

  • Arizona also led the nation in diesel price increases, with prices accelerating nearly 70 percent to new all-time highs exceeding $6 per gallon. Diesel prices remain above $5 today, meaning even sharper price increases across the supply chain and higher costs on everyday goods that require trucking.

Despite acknowledging rising costs at the pump, Biggs made clear he was more concerned about avoiding a political "gotcha" that could "embarrass the president" than lowering costs for Arizonans.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Andy Biggs was the deciding vote to keep gas and diesel prices sky-high, and Arizonans are paying for it every single time they fill up. Biggs rubber-stamped Washington's cost-hiking agenda and Arizona's families are stuck footing the bill.”

All week, Copper State War Room will continue highlighting the five key ways Andy Biggs has raised costs and made life more expensive for Arizonans. If you missed earlier editions, you can find them here: Day One: Sky-High Cost of Groceries; Day Two: Sky-High Cost of Healthcare
