Copper State Chaos: Biggs Costs; Money Talks; Red Flag; A Baby Grand Piano Up Camelback

The primary may be over, but the chaos isn't. This week, Andy Biggs once again showed Arizonans exactly who he is—and why he can't be trusted to put Arizona first.

BIGGS COSTS: From Phoenix to Yuma to Tucson, Arizonans are blasting Andy Biggs' disastrous, cost-hiking agenda for driving grocery, gas, and healthcare prices to all-time highs. His record includes backing Washington's costly tariffs, casting a fourth vote to keep gas prices high, pushing to gut healthcare, and even claiming there's no inflation — all while costs continue to climb on his watch.

MONEY TALKS: Andy Biggs’ own party doesn’t seem that into him, even as he ditched Arizonans on primary Election Day to fly to Aspen, Colorado, and beg Washington donors for cash. As the Democratic Governors Association announced  an initial $10 million investment to support Gov. Hobbs’ re-election, the Republican Governors Association had “not yet dedicated any money to Biggs’ reelection.” All that groveling, and he still came up empty. 

RED FLAG: Biggs' campaign can spin all it wants, but the truth is already out there, with members of his own party warning just how dangerous he is for Arizona. Former Republican Gov. Jan Brewer has said that independents will "never" back Biggs and that if "Andy wins, we lose the general election." She has also called out the very Medicaid cuts Biggs has embraced, cautioning that "you can't kill people to balance your budget" — and had to go around Biggs as Senate President just to ensure Medicaid coverage for 300,000 Arizonans.

A BABY GRAND PIANO UP CAMELBACK: Wednesday, on KTAR’s Faceoff, former Congressman and Biggs supporter Matt Salmon described Andy Biggs’ chances of winning as similar to “carrying a baby grand piano up Camelback Mountain.” He reiterated that the Iran war “is not going all that well,” causing Arizonans to have to “take out a loan to buy a gallon of gas,” and “inflation isn’t great.” Wes Gullett, the former deputy campaign manager for the late Senator John McCain said “the biggest problem Andy Biggs has got is that he just voted for the war… that’s a problem.” Four times, we might add.
