THE ANDY BIGGS FILES, VOLUME 6: Refusing to Disqualify Sex Offenders

10/14/26, 1:00 PM

Welcome to The Andy Biggs Files, Copper State War Room’s weekly look at Andy Biggs’ decades-long record of protecting pedophiles, sex traffickers, and abusers.

Each week, we’ll examine a different vote from Biggs’ career, what was at stake, and explain how he put politics ahead of protecting Arizonans.

Volume 6 focuses on 2012, when Andy Biggs was one of only three state senators to vote against HB2430, which disqualifies registered sex offenders from obtaining private investigator or security guard licenses and certificates.

The bill had overwhelming bipartisan support and passed the Senate 27-3. It was signed into law by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer.

This vote is one in a long pattern of Biggs being on the wrong side of legislation intended to protect women and children from sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking that is documented in The Andy Biggs Files, a website examining Biggs’ legislative record on these issues. Fellow Republican David Schweikert put it bluntly: Biggs "voted against protecting our children from really, really bad actors."

If you missed earlier editions, you can find them here: Volume 1: Pimps, Johns Ahead of Child Protection; Volume 2: Tripling Down on Spousal Rape Vote; Volume 3: Blocking Bill Addressing Rape Kit Backlog; Volume 4: Siding with Pedophiles and Sex Traffickers in Epstein Files; Volume 5: Voting Against Harsher Penalties for Child Sex Traffickers.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Whether it’s child sex trafficking, sexual abuse, or other forms of exploitation, Andy Biggs owes Arizonans answers for his continued votes against protecting women and children.”
