THE ANDY BIGGS FILES, VOLUME 5: Voting Against Harsher Penalties for Child Sex Traffickers
9/30/26, 1:00 PM
Welcome to The Andy Biggs Files, Copper State War Room’s weekly look at Andy Biggs’ decades-long record of protecting pedophiles, sex traffickers, and abusers.
Each week, we’ll examine a different vote from Biggs’ career, what was at stake, and explain how he put politics ahead of protecting Arizonans.
Volume 5 focuses on 2005, when Andy Biggs was one of only four state legislators to vote against SB1338, an anti-sex trafficking law designed to protect children.
This bill established a 20-year presumptive sentence for sex trafficking of a minor under 15 (30 years for a subsequent offense) and added the offense to the sex offender registry requirements.
This vote is one in a long pattern of Biggs being on the wrong side of legislation intended to protect women and children from sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking that is documented in The Andy Biggs Files, a website examining Biggs’ legislative record on these issues. Fellow Republican David Schweikert put it bluntly: Biggs "voted against protecting our children from really, really bad actors."

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Andy Biggs is so dangerous that he voted against a bill that established tougher penalties for criminals who traffic children. Whether it’s child sex trafficking, sexual abuse, or other forms of exploitation, Andy Biggs owes Arizonans answers for his votes against protecting women and children.”
