Copper State War Room is launching its “The Cost of Biggs: Five Days, Five Ways” press release series this week, detailing exactly how Andy Biggs' cost-hiking Washington agenda is costing Arizona families. Day Four: Sky-High Cost of Housing.

Andy Biggs has repeatedly voted for the cost-hiking agenda that is making housing unaffordable and inaccessible for Arizonans. 

• Biggs was one of just a handful of lawmakers to vote against the largest housing affordability bill in decades, a bipartisan effort to lower housing prices and cap corporate investors from bulk buying single-family properties.
  

• Biggs voted to protect and expand cost-hiking tariffs on steel, aluminum, and raw materials that “clobbered” local manufacturers and contractors with inflated operating costs. Local builders called the result an "unstable environment" that contributed to delayed housing projects and more expensive home prices. 

Biggs voted to protect and expand Washington’s cost-hiking tariffs, calling them “a brilliant economic strategy.” He has claimed that there is "no inflation," said that the tariffs were “not inflationary,” and argued that Washington has “tamed inflation” and “brought everything back down.” 

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said: “Andy Biggs keeps voting to make life harder for Arizona families, including making housing more expensive. He stood with the out-of-state investors driving up costs and pricing families out of homeownership. It's the same pattern every time: Biggs answers to Washington, not Arizonans, and families are left footing the bill.”
