Andy Biggs’ Cost-Hiking Votes Drive Food Prices to Three-Year High

Global food prices jumped to a three-year high in July, and Andy Biggs' war in Iran is a major reason why, per the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's chief economist. Arizona families are paying for it with sky-high groceries and record gas prices, the latest cost of Biggs' Washington agenda.
The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) found global food prices hit their highest level since January 2023, as wheat prices jumped 5.8 percent and vegetable oil prices reached a four-year high. The FAO pointed to the war in Iran and resulting higher oil prices as a key driver of rising food costs.
Even his own allies acknowledge Biggs’ responsibility for rising costs. Biggs voted for the war in Iran four straight times. He also voted to protect and expand the cost-hiking tariffs, causing grocery prices to hit multiple all-time highs, and praised them as “a brilliant economic strategy.” Biggs has claimed that there is "no inflation," said that the tariffs were “not inflationary,” and argued that Washington has “tamed inflation” and “brought everything back down.”
