New Poll: Voters “Worried” and “Angry” About Biggs and Schweikert’s Healthcare Cost Hikes

The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) is out with new polling data and analysis showing that the healthcare cuts backed by Andy Biggs and David Schweikert are not only deeply unpopular, but are also top of mind for voters ahead of the November election. A majority of voters directly blamed congressional Republicans like Biggs and Schweikert for these cost hikes.
The poll found that 80 percent of people who rely on the healthcare marketplace reported increases in their monthly premiums. Nearly one quarter of those individuals were forced to downgrade their health insurance plans and opt for worse coverage. Making the news worse for Biggs and Schweikert, “Nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of 2025 Marketplace enrollees say they felt ‘worried’ during the process of looking for coverage while about half (52 percent) say they felt ‘angry.’”
Previous reports have detailed how “insurance premiums on the ACA marketplace for Arizona jumped nearly 30 percent on average.”
Both Biggs and Schweikert championed the partisan budget that stripped healthcare tax credits away from 423,000 Arizonans, and voters haven’t forgotten that. Biggs and Schweikert also voted against a bipartisan effort to reverse the damage and lower costs. Biggs called the DC budget a “good thing,” and Schweikert bragged that he personally “co-wrote” this “historic” bill that raised healthcare costs for Arizona families in order to give billionaires tax breaks.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Washington insiders Andy Biggs and David Schweikert chose billionaires and party loyalty over Arizonans, and voters are making it clear that they will remember at the ballot box. You can't brag about raising costs for 423,000 Arizonans and expect them to forget it on Election Day.”
