Healthcare Premiums Soar 30 Percent After Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert Abandoned Arizona Families

1/29/26, 7:00 PM

As January comes to a close, Arizonans are still paying even higher prices for healthcare, with a recent report detailing how ACA marketplace plans for Arizonans have jumped nearly 30 percent on average.

Arizonans with higher costs can thank the GOP’s partisan budget from Washington that Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert all backed and that stripped healthcare tax credits away from over 400,000 Arizonans. All three GOP candidates have also refused to join bipartisan calls to reverse the damage, with Biggs and Schweikert voting against lowering costs.

Instead of standing up for Arizona, Biggs called the DC budget that is raising healthcare costs a “good thing,”and Taylor Robson celebrated it as a “huge win” and “historic." Not to be outdone, Schweikert bragged that he “co-wrote” this “historic” bill that raised healthcare costs for Arizona families while giving billionaires tax breaks.

Arizonans are already feeling the consequences. One Biggs constituent felt like she “got punched in the chest” when she learned about her new, higher healthcare premium. A small business owner was forced to downgrade his healthcare plan after rising costs made his standard coverage unaffordable. One family saw their premium rise so exponentially that it exceeded their household mortgage payment.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert abandoned working families by backing a partisan budget that is sending Arizonans’ healthcare premiums sky-high. This November, voters will not forget that when it mattered, these out-of-touch politicians chose to give away tax breaks for billionaires and stuck Arizonans with higher healthcare costs.”
