Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert Can’t Defend Their Cost-Hiking Agenda to Yuma Families

12/19/25, 8:30 PM

Yesterday, Arizona Democrats and Yuma leaders held a press conference to call out Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert for supporting the chaotic tariffs, which have driven costs to all-time highs for Arizona families and dampened their holiday season. Local CEOs and business owners expressed concerns about how tariffs are raising costs, with Healing Journey CEO and mental health professional Estrella Fitch saying: "Families are suffering right now. The cost of living has gone too high.”

Nichim Cafe owner and two-time Trump voter Karime Hayer told KYMA: "We used to have a flat rate from our vendor. Now that flat rate has increased by 25%, and that's a huge impact when I don't have prices that much into my cost already, so prices are going up.”

However, when asked to comment after KYMA reached out to their campaigns, all three GOP candidates declined

That silence is nothing new. Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert have all supported the tariffs but have repeatedly failed to defend their cost-hikes - even when Arizona businesses speak out, including a Chandler manufacturer and a Trump-supporting small business owner who said his company was being “clobbered” by the tariffs.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Families and small businesses across the state are hurting because the tariffs are hiking costs, but Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert refuse to listen because they’re putting loyalty to their own harmful partisan agenda first. All three GOP candidates need to explain why they support these tariffs - even as costs continue to go up.”
