Arizona Diesel Prices Skyrocket Over 20 Cents To Hit New All-Time High — Again

9/15/26, 6:00 PM

Arizona diesel has hit a new all-time high of $6.23 per gallon and counting, according to AAA, officially surpassing April 2026’s previous all-time high. The jump comes just days after Arizona’s statewide average for diesel topped $6 for the second time this year, a swing of more than 20 cents since last Thursday.

Despite this, Andy Biggs continues to support the war in Iran that is driving fuel prices to unprecedented levels, casting the deciding vote to keep the U.S. in the war, and voting against bipartisan efforts to bring fuel costs back under control four additional times. According to the chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, the cost of the war to American households is now $1,650, up from $1,000 in August.

Three months ago, Biggs told Arizona's Family he believed there was "an incredibly high likelihood that this [war in Iran] gets resolved in the next few weeks." Instead, the war recently passed the six-month mark, and as one local FOX10 anchor put it, "tens of billions of dollars later, there's no end in sight."

Even after admitting fuel costs were climbing, Biggs said he was more worried about avoiding a political misstep that might embarrass the president than about easing the burden on Arizona families.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Diesel just hit a new record high, and Andy Biggs put it there. He had five chances to end this war and did the wrong thing every single time. Now Arizona families and small businesses are paying record prices every time they fill up.”
