The Arizona GOP’s Thanksgiving: Stuffed With Higher Costs

Happy Thanksgiving! Sweepstakes-winning multimillionaire Andy Biggs, billionaire lobbyist Karrin Taylor Robson, and campaign finance violator David Schweikert won’t lose sleep over the Thanksgiving sticker shock created by their cost-raising agenda.
The Associated Press conducted a price review and saw that while wholesale turkey prices are up 44 percent in 2025, many retailers are taking large losses just to get consumers through the door. Unfortunately, because of the GOP tariff economy, look at how costs are rising for Arizonans this Thanksgiving:
Cans of cranberry sauce up 38.4 percent
Jars of gravy up 31.1 percent
Boxes of stuffing up 13.2 percent
Pie pastry up 7.1 percent
Biggs and Schweikert voted twice against an effort to stop the cost-hiking tariffs. Biggs called tariffs a “brilliant economic strategy,” and Schweikert bragged that he speaks to the White House about tariffs “every other day,” and is “doing the calculations.” Taylor Robson has argued that Trump should go further in raising costs for Arizona families, tweeting her full support for more tariffs, “Keep fighting, Mr. President!"
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“The toughest thing for Arizonans this Thanksgiving isn’t cooking the turkey, but the skyrocketing cost of groceries driven by the reckless federal tariffs every GOP candidate for governor supports. While working families struggle to put a holiday meal on the table, Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert are serving up higher costs instead of helping Arizona families.”
