Schweikert on “Warpath” in Brutal Arizona GOP Primary

3/12/26, 7:00 PM

Yesterday, Yellow Sheet Report highlighted the increasingly brutal Arizona Republican gubernatorial primary between Andy Biggs and David Schweikert, where Schweikert’s campaign attacked Biggs for “cozying up” to white supremacist and antisemitic groups.

Schweikert’s latest, “downright nasty” offensive informs voters that Biggs "hangs with racists," citing Biggs' endorsement of candidates who bragged about owning Mein Kampf. This follows a recent radio interview where Schweikert highlighted Biggs’ ties to the militant white nationalist Proud Boys as a key difference between the two.

According to Yellow Sheet, the “downright nasty” attack breaks an uneasy peace between the two Republicans, who had previously taken more subtle shots at each other without mentioning the other by name.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Neither Andy Biggs nor David Schweikert are concerned that their legislative records have caused all-time highs in grocery prices and daily costs for Arizonans. Instead of focusing on working families, the two are yet again caught in an aggressive punch-out that hits lower and lower by the day.”

Yellow Sheet Report: Schweikert hits the warpath with attack ad against Biggs Reagan Priest

March 11, 2025

  • Congressman David Schweikert’s gubernatorial campaign sent out an attack mailer targeting his Republican primary opponent, fellow Congressman Andy Biggs, and accusing him of cozying up to white supremacists and antisemites.

  • The mailer, first reported by Arizona’s Family, cites two Arizona Republic articles about Biggs’ appearance at a 2024 gun-rights rally sponsored by the Proud Boys and Arizona State University’s College Republicans United. It also criticizes the congressman for appearing on Stew Peters’ podcast and endorsing Brandon Herrera for a congressional seat in Texas as both men have been criticized for antisemitic comments.

  • The attack breaks an uneasy peace between the two congressmen, neither of whom has gone explicitly negative against the other since Schweikert entered the governor’s race in October. But Schweikert clearly is not afraid to go on the warpath — his campaign circulated a scathing memo in December urging Karrin Taylor Robson to drop out of the primary, which she eventually did last month.
