Former GOP Speaker Kevin McCarthy “Worried” About Andy Biggs’ Extreme Record

In a Fox News interview today, former GOP Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy sounded the alarm over Andy Biggs’ partisan, extremist record, saying: “I’m worried about Arizona because I don’t think the Republican nominee we have, Biggs, could cut across and get moderates and others and we picked up seats from Democrats to win the majority.”

Other allies have repeated this alarm — former Republican Governor Jan Brewer said last year that independents would “never” back Biggs and warned that if “Andy wins, we lose the general [election].” 

Schweikert also warned that Biggs can’t associate with “avowed antisemites or racists,” vote “against Holocaust remembrances” or “against protecting our children from really, really bad actors” and expect to “explain it away in a general election.”

Biggs recently scored inside the 25 most partisan members of the U.S. House, and just last month, Biggs admitted that "bipartisanship is probably not my number one goal." The self-proclaimed "most pro-Trump Member of Congress" has also recently voted against bipartisan bills to lower housing costs for Arizona families and protect seniors from scammers.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Even Andy Biggs' own party knows he is too extreme for Arizona and a liability up and down the ticket. His extreme record of raising costs, slashing healthcare, and shielding a corrupt pedophile cult is something that will follow Biggs all the way to November.”
