Biggs Lets the Mask Slip: “Bipartisanship Is Probably Not My Number One Goal”

7/14/26, 9:00 PM

Last week Andy Biggs couldn’t even make it through a conservative podcast without letting the mask slip, boasting that "bipartisanship is probably not my number one goal."

The comment confirms what his own party has already been sounding the alarm about for months: he’s too focused on partisan politics to deliver for Arizona.

Fellow Republican candidate Scott Neely warned that Arizona Republicans "don't need another Kari Lake loss," while Congressman David Schweikert argued that "every data point" shows Biggs cannot win a general election due to his extreme record. Both Schweikert and Neely also criticized Biggs’ close ties to far-right Turning Point, with Schweikert arguing that Biggs is “wholly owned” by the organization.

Biggs’ own record backs up those concerns. Throughout his time in Congress and as a legislator, Biggs has repeatedly voted for a hyperpartisan agenda that is raising costs and cutting health care, while rejecting bipartisan solutions. Recently, Biggs has:

  • Voted against a bipartisan bill to lower housing costs for Arizonans

  • Voted against protecting seniors from scammers and bad actors

  • Tanked a bipartisan deal in the Arizona Legislature to protect police officers, fire fighters, and teachers, instead choosing to shield waste, fraud, and abuse in the ESA program

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Andy Biggs just told Arizonans exactly who he is: more focused on partisan politics than delivering results for Arizona. From his election denialism to his support of cost-hiking tariffs and his ties to extremist groups, Andy Biggs has spent his career proving just how extreme he is. Biggs should explain why he thinks his hyperpartisan record in DC that’s been a complete disaster for working families will work any better in Arizona.”
