Five Days, Five Ways Andy Biggs and Kari Lake Share the Same Extreme Agenda, Day Two: Banning Abortion

5/5/26, 4:30 PM

Copper State War Room is continuing its “Five Days, Five Ways” press release series, highlighting how Andy Biggs is carrying forward Kari Lake’s extreme and out-of-touch agenda. Day Two: Banning Abortion.

Andy Biggs and Kari Lake have both supported extreme abortion bans with no exceptions for rape or incest, a position that is far outside the mainstream of Arizona voters.

  • Lake has said abortion is “not health care. It is the killing, it is the sacrifice, it is the execution of a baby in the mother’s womb.” She called Arizona’s 1864 total abortion ban “a great law” and even called on county sheriffs to enforce it. She praised the overturning of Roe v. Wade and pledged to enforce a ban with no exceptions for rape or incest.

Both cheered Arizona’s 1864 territorial abortion ban, a law that required prison time for doctors and was repealed by a bipartisan vote of the Arizona Legislature. Arizona voters made their position clear in 2024, approving Prop 139 to enshrine reproductive freedom in the state constitution by nearly a 2-to-1 margin.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Andy Biggs and Kari Lake both want out-of-touch politicians to bring back one of the country’s most extreme abortion bans that doesn’t have exceptions for rape and incest and would throw doctors in jail. Arizonans have already rejected this extreme agenda, and they will defeat this losing agenda again in November.”

Copper State War Room will continue to highlight five key ways Biggs is out of step with Arizona voters throughout the week. Missed yesterday’s release? Catch up on Day One: Election Denialism here.
