FACT CHECK: David Schweikert Is a Washington Insider Who Is Selling Out Arizonans and Raising Their Costs

As the GOP primary for governor is getting even messier, extreme, and expensive, a new pro-Schweikert super PAC radio ad is trying to claim David Schweikert “isn’t a sellout.” But Arizonans know the truth: Schweikert is an unethical Washington insider who - just like Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson - puts his own partisan politics first and sells out working families by supporting policies that are driving up costs.
In fact, the ad even openly brags about Schweikert’s support for Trump’s tax bill, which is cutting healthcare, raising costs, and threatening rural hospitals.
This comes as a super PAC backing Karrin Taylor Robson recently launched a TV ad filled with absurd claims that she is a political outsider. The Yellow Sheet Report scorched the ad, calling it “The Robson Rebrand,” given her long history as a failed politician and corporate lobbyist — all while she supports policies that are raising costs in Arizona.
No matter how chaotic and extreme the GOP primary gets, Copper State War Room will continue to set the record straight. Here is the truth:
CLAIM: The ad says that Schweikert is a “Republican who isn't a sellout.”
THE TRUTH:
David Schweikert has repeatedly sold out Arizonans by supporting an extreme partisan agenda that could kick 365,000 Arizonans off their healthcare and is set to raise healthcare premiums for another 300,000, all to give tax breaks to billionaires.
When Arizonans raised concerns, Schweikert didn’t listen; he mocked them as "whining and bedwetting.”
Schweikert has also bragged that he was “doing the calculations on the tariffs” with the White House, directly taking credit for the higher prices Arizonans are seeing every day.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“David Schweikert has a clear record of selling out the people he serves — hiking prices, putting 365,000 Arizonans at risk of losing their healthcare, and supporting tax breaks for billionaires. Instead of listening to families worried about losing their healthcare, he mocked them. Arizona deserves a governor who is focused on lowering costs and protecting healthcare, not a Washington sellout like Schweikert pushing a cost-hiking agenda.”
