Copper State War Room Releases “The Question,” A New Digital Video Demanding Answers From Basement Biggs on $1.8 Billion Taxpayer-Funded Slush Fund

Today, Copper State War Room released “The Question,” a digital video highlighting Andy Biggs’ silence on the $1.8 billion January 6 slush fund, which could compensate convicted criminals. Given Biggs’ role in helping spearhead the violent insurrection, according to a January 6 organizer, Arizonans deserve answers.
Earlier this week, Biggs and David Schweikert both voted to let Trump funnel taxpayer dollars to his January 6 slush fund, after Trump said he’d be “disappointed” if the slush fund weren’t approved, and even called it a “great idea.” New reporting indicates Trump administration officials are still working behind the scenes to find ways to deliver taxpayer-funded payouts, making Biggs’ and Schweikert’s votes even more alarming.
There is no separating Andy Biggs from the January 6 insurrection he helped fuel. Despite his deep ties to the effort to overturn the 2020 election, Biggs has refused to answer basic questions about the fund. He pressured Arizona officials to decertify electors, worked with the White House to overturn the election, sought a presidential pardon afterward, and then ignored a congressional subpoena investigating the attack.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Andy Biggs has spent years refusing to answer for his role in the effort to overturn Arizona’s votes in the 2020 election, and now he’s refusing to answer basic questions about a nearly $2 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund for convicted criminals who assaulted police officers. While Basement Biggs continues to hide from Arizonans, voters are asking a simple question: Why won't Andy Biggs explain why he supports the fund, even though he could personally benefit from it?"
