Andy Biggs and David Schweikert’s Tariff Tax Agenda Cost Arizona Families $1.6 Billion

The Trade Partnership Worldwide is out with new numbers that emphasize what many Arizonans already know: Andy Biggs and David Schweikert’s out-of-touch tariff agenda is taking a real toll on working families.

According to Trade Partnership Worldwide, Arizona families paid an additional $1.6 billion due to tariffs in 2025, with the costs passed onto consumers through price increases across a variety of everyday products. Previous data shows that individual households across the country paid an extra $1,700 annually, with that number predicted to rise even further in 2026.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court ruled that these tariffs were unconstitutional after both Biggs and Schweikert voted twice to keep them in place. After Trump imposed a universal 15 percent tariff tax, Biggs remained silent, and Schweikert went a step further to propose a new “universal tariff,” stating that he was “not going to let this whole thing fall apart.”

Biggs and Schweikert are doubling down on a cost-hiking agenda that is leaving Arizona families and small businesses behind. More than two out of three Americans blame tariffs for driving up prices, and Arizona small businesses continue to reel from operating costs that are anywhere from 20 to 900 percent higher.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Arizona families are paying the price for Andy Biggs and David Schweikert’s cost-hiking agenda. Every day that they defend tariffs on working families is another day that they choose Washington politics over Arizona families.”
