Yuma Leaders Slammed Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert for Their Tariff-First Agenda That Is Driving Up Holiday Costs
12/18/25, 8:00 PM
YUMA – Today, Arizona Democratic Party Chair Charlene Fernandez and Yuma leaders delivered a scathing condemnation of the cost-hiking economic agenda of Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert, which have been collectively driving up costs to all-time highs for Arizona families.
All three of the GOP candidates continue to support cost-hiking tariffs that hurt Arizona families. Both Biggs and Schweikert voted twice against an effort to stop the cost-hiking tariffs. Biggs called tariffs a “brilliant economic strategy,” and Schweikert bragged that he speaks to the White House about tariffs “every other day,” and is “doing the calculations.” Karrin Taylor Robson has argued that Trump should go further in raising costs for Arizona families, tweeting her full support for more tariffs, “Keep fighting, Mr. President!”

Arizona Democratic Party Chair Charlene Fernandez:
“Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert know tariffs are raising our costs. They don’t care. They are proud of it. They are bragging about it. All while Arizonans pay more for everything we need to survive.”
Yuma County Democratic Party Chair Xanthe Bullard:
“Rural Arizonans cannot afford [those] who treat our livelihoods as collateral damage. Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert need to explain to Yuma families why they are fighting to make our groceries more expensive and our jobs less secure. If they continue to support these tariffs, they are choosing to hurt Arizonans across this state.”
Healing Journey CEO and Mental Health Professional Estrella Fitch:
“Restaurant owners, families, are suffering right now… She [Lucy Adair, owner of The Wicked Taco] wants to keep her doors open to her restaurant, and to the beautiful community in the Foothills.”
