This Super Bowl Sunday, Americans Getting Penalized Thanks to Tariffs Backed by Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert

2/6/26, 5:00 PM

Ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, it’s not just Drake Maye and Sam Darnold who will be under a ton of pressure. Arizonans are facing yet another blow to their wallets with skyrocketing food prices thanks to the chaotic tariffs that Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert all support.

Let’s take a look at how higher prices are blitzing the menu:

  • Nachos: Beef prices are at all-time highs, having risen 16 percent over the past year, coming in at a whopping $6.69 per pound as of December.

  • Ice Cold Drinks: Soda and beer costs are up because aluminum tariffs have affected domestic manufacturers in and out of Arizona, with price increases as high as 50 percent.

  • Opting for a sports bar? The cost of dining out saw its “largest monthly gain in three years.” Arizonans’ wallets are getting sacked by tariffs no matter where they go.

Overall, just weeks after the largest monthly price spike on groceries since the pandemic, prices are up in five of the six major food-at-home categories, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

All the candidates have cheered these tariffs, even as they are driving up grocery prices for Arizonans. Biggs called tariffs “a brilliant economic strategy.” Taylor Robson and Schweikert have also backed tariffs in full, and Schweikert even bragged about “doing the calculations” with the White House on tariffs.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“While Arizona families face a blitz of skyrocketing grocery prices, Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert refuse to go on offense against Washington’s tax-hiking agenda, letting Arizonans take the hit instead.”
