On Dobbs Anniversary, Biggs and Schweikert Continue To Support a Total Ban on Abortion

Today marks the fourth anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade.
Both Andy Biggs and David Schweikert have extremist views on women’s healthcare, including support for a total ban on abortion that threatens access to IVF, contraception, and family planning.
Andy Biggs called the Dobbs decision a “major victory.” He has repeatedly pushed for a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for rape and incest, threatening access to IVF and certain cancer treatments for women. When a Civil War-era ban was reinstated in Arizona in September 2022, Andy Biggs celebrated it as a “monumental win.” Biggs said that banning abortion is his “number one issue,” calling it “barbaric,” “evil,” and a “heinous genocide.”
David Schweikert was “pleased” to celebrate the Dobbs decision. He has cosponsored legislation to ban abortion nationwide six times, voted to restrict servicemembers’ access to reproductive care, and earlier this year, said he was “honored” to have an anti-choice record.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Four years after Dobbs, Andy Biggs and David Schweikert still believe Washington politicians should make deeply personal healthcare decisions for Arizona women and families. Their records make clear that if either becomes governor, they would sign a total abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest. Arizonans have already rejected this extremist agenda, and they will reject Biggs or Schweikert this November.”
