No Relief in Sight: Biggs and Schweikert Stuck Arizona Families With High Gas Prices Through 2026

4/21/26, 5:00 PM

Andy Biggs and David Schweikert are keeping Arizona families stuck with high gas prices well into next year. Energy Secretary Chris Wright argued last week that gas prices might not return to $3 or below until "next year," echoing President Trump’s own admission that prices could remain high or “maybe a little bit higher” into 2027.

High gas prices are a direct result of Biggs and Schweikert, who voted to keep gas prices climbing. In the last two months alone, Phoenix gas prices increased nearly $2 per gallon, while state diesel prices hit an all-time high of $6.20 this month.

The ripple effects are already being felt across Arizona. A KJZZ report found agricultural leaders warning that skyrocketing fuel prices "affects the bottom line significantly," while one ASU expert noted that "small businesses are suffering." Arizona’s Family reported that these rising costs could "spell doom" for the Republican Party in November, suggesting "it’s time for Republicans to panic."

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“There’s no relief in sight for Arizona families at the pump because Andy Biggs and David Schweikert keep backing Washington’s cost-hiking agenda. With gas prices expected to stay high into 2027, Arizona families are the ones stuck paying the price.”
