NEW: Andy Biggs Triples Down on Vote Against Tougher Spousal Rape Penalties

Andy Biggs was asked again last night about his 2005 vote against tougher penalties for spousal rape — and tripled down on it, getting into a verbal altercation with 12News' Brahm Resnik in the process. The bipartisan bill he opposed passed 52-5, making his vote a clear outlier even among his own colleagues.

This is not the first time Biggs has been confronted on the issue: in October 2025, he doubled down on the same vote during "Politics Unplugged," dismissing the question as "political meat" and claiming "nobody is asking me about that."

This comes as Biggs' decades-long record of siding with predators over their victims is coming to light. As Arizona Senate president, he blocked bipartisan legislation that would have protected underage girls from sexual abuse and forced child marriage, was the lone "no" vote against a bill toughening penalties for child prostitution, and opposed requiring sex offenders to register when they move to Arizona.
