In Primary’s Final Days, Biggs Ally Picks Fight With Former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey

7/17/26, 5:00 PM

With days left in Arizona's bruising Republican gubernatorial primary, it's become clear that no one in the Republican Party is safe from the divisive chaos of Andy Biggs’ campaign. Top Andy Biggs ally and radio host Garret Lewis of The Afternoon Addiction turned his fire on Ducey, declaring flatly that Ducey was “always a Democrat.”

That extremism hasn't gone unnoticed by fellow Republicans, who are increasingly sounding the alarm. Scott Neely warned that Arizona Republicans "don't need another Kari Lake loss," while Congressman David Schweikert argued that "every data point" shows Biggs simply cannot win a general election given his extreme record.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

Andy Biggs is out of step with Arizona, running on an extreme record while he and his allies spend the primary sowing division and even tearing apart his own party in the process. There are only a few days left in this primary, but the damage is going to last for a long time.”
