Five Days, Five Ways That Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson Are Out-of-Touch With Arizonans: Ripping Away Healthcare

8/4/25, 12:00 PM

After launching last week, Copper State War Room is spending its first full week with a “Five Days, Five Ways” press series spotlighting how Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson have failed Arizona. Day One: Both GOP candidates backed a Republican budget that would rip healthcare away from 365,000 Arizonans—just to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

Instead of listening to Arizona healthcare leaders, business owners, parents, and the 365,000 Arizonans whose coverage is at risk, Biggs and Taylor Robson supported the GOP budget that would gut Medicaid. Their motivation? Appeasing one person: Donald Trump.

Here are just a few examples of Arizonans whom Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson ignored to score political points:

  • A single mother in the Valley working two jobs to support her children, including one with asthma, pleaded for lawmakers to understand: “We’re real people.”

  • An Arizona woman who regained custody of her toddler after recovering from opioid addiction said: “I didn’t have AHCCCS before and I went back on drugs… the withdrawals are really bad.”

  • A grandmother caring for two children with disabilities told the Arizona Republic: “If [their care] goes away, then there will be regression. I can’t even put into words how that makes me feel.”

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:

“Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson are in a race to the bottom, each trying to outdo the other in gutting Arizonans’ healthcare. Their callous political calculations come with serious consequences: skyrocketing medical bills, growing debt, and seniors pushed out of nursing homes. Arizonans need leaders who will fight for their care—not self-serving politicians trying to shamelessly score political points for themselves.”The Copper State War Room will continue highlighting five key ways Biggs and Taylor Robson are out of step with Arizona voters throughout the week.
