FACT CHECK: Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson Try To Rewrite History After Supporting Trump’s Attacks on Mail-in Voting
9/18/25, 5:30 PM
Republican gubernatorial candidates Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson have both publicly applauded a federal executive order to ban mail-in voting, the preferred voting method for 85 percent of Arizonans. When asked to clarify their support for their out-of-touch position, both Biggs and Taylor Robson are desperately trying to rewrite history or avoid the question entirely.
It’s no wonder the Associated Press reported that these attacks on mail voting are creating a new “dilemma” for Biggs and Taylor Robson, writing that “Trump’s sweeping condemnation of mail voting gives swing-state Republicans one more reason to worry.”
Here are the facts:
Previously, in direct response to the executive order announcement, which called mail-in voting “corrupt,” Andy Biggs posted: “American elections are too important to risk mail-in ballot fraud. Thank you, Mr. President!”
Now, when asked to clarify, Biggs' campaign is trying to rewrite history by saying Biggs “does not support eliminating mail voting.”
Previously, when Karrin Taylor Robson was asked if she supported the federal executive order to end mail-in voting, she said: “I absolutely agree with the President.”
Now, when asked to clarify, Taylor Robson’s campaign “declined to elaborate.”
After praising the federal executive order to end mail-in voting, both candidates were caught having personally voted by mail for the last 20 years.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“From raising costs and supporting cuts to healthcare to attacking Arizona’s voters and elections, Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson have both made it clear they will take their marching orders from Washington insiders instead of Arizonans. No matter how much Biggs and Taylor Robson try to run away from their harmful, unpopular positions, this GOP primary keeps racing further to the right, leaving Arizonans no reason to trust either of them.”
