Do Andy Biggs and David Schweikert “Love the Inflation,” Too?

6/11/26, 8:30 PM

Yesterday, after inflation climbed above 4 percent for the first time in three years, President Trump declared, “I love the inflation.”

Arizonans deserve to know: do Andy Biggs and David Schweikert agree?

Biggs has repeatedly claimed that cost-hiking tariffs are “not inflationary,” called them a “brilliant economic strategy,” and even argued that Washington had “tamed inflation.” Schweikert, meanwhile, bragged about personally “doing the calculations” with the White House on inflationary tariffs.

Thanks to Biggs and Schweikert, Arizona families paid an extra $2,200 for goods and services, according to a Joint Economic Committee report.

Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado released the following statement:

“Donald Trump says he ‘loves the inflation.’ Arizona families who are paying more for groceries, gas, housing, and everyday essentials certainly don't. Andy Biggs claimed inflation was ‘tamed,’ and David Schweikert helped champion the same cost-hiking agenda that is making life more expensive. As costs continue to rise, Arizonans deserve to know whether Biggs and Schweikert still believe higher prices are something worth celebrating.”
