Copper State War Room Statement on Labor Day

9/1/25, 6:00 PM

Copper State War Room spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado released the following statement on Labor Day:

“This Labor Day, Arizona Democrats across the state honor the contributions and accomplishments that workers and labor unions fought to deliver, achieving historic wins in the workplace that we consider commonplace today. Today, we recognize America’s workers who gave us a 40-hour work week, workplace safety standards, affordable healthcare, and the ability to retire with dignity, to name a few.

“While Arizona Democrats support workers, extremists in both the state Legislature and Washington continue to abandon them —  backing the largest tax hike on Arizonans in five decades and driving up the cost of everyday essentials to make it harder to get by, all while happily slashing Medicaid and food assistance to cut taxes for billionaires.

“Support for American workers, their families, and their right to organize is central to our fight to ensure opportunity for all Arizonans — and we will continue to fight for better wages, workplace safety, and lower costs for families across the Copper State.”
