AZGOP Gubernatorial Primary’s Latest Low: Abandoning DREAMers

As the GOP primary intensifies, Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs are locked in a race to the right to see who can emerge as the most extreme candidate. The latest proof point? Karrin Taylor Robson is now joining Andy Biggs in abandoning DREAMers.
Last week, Taylor Robson told Legislative District 3 GOP members that she now “supports Trump’s executive order” opposing in-state tuition for DREAMers — a stark reversal from her 2022 endorsement of Prop 308, the voter-approved initiative granting in-state tuition to DREAMers at Arizona’s public universities. At the time, she not only endorsed the ballot initiative but went so far as to appear in an ad, saying, “As a business owner and a Republican, I will be voting yes on Prop 308.”
Andy Biggs has long been out of touch with Arizonans on this issue. Previously, Biggs stated that he would “never support the DREAM Act,” and expressed that he was “extremely disappointed” that the Supreme Court blocked an attempt to end the DACA program.
But it’s not just DREAMers. Both Biggs and Taylor Robson have embraced a radical agenda supporting the covering up of the Epstein files, slashing healthcare and food assistance for Arizona families, and imposing devastating tariffs that amount to tax hikes on working people and small businesses.
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“This GOP primary is a race to the bottom, and no matter who wins, Arizonans lose with either of these out-of-touch extremists. Whether it’s abandoning DREAMers, supporting slashing Medicaid, or backing job-killing tariffs, this race to the extremes shows how low Andy Biggs and Karrin Taylor Robson are willing to go to win this primary — and it’s only going to get worse from here.”
