Arizonans Denounce Washington Overreach and Call on Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert To Condemn Federal Attacks on Voters
2/12/26, 8:00 PM
PHOENIX – Today, Arizona voting rights leaders delivered a scathing condemnation of Washington’s all-out assault on voters, calling on Republican gubernatorial candidates Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert to publicly condemn the federal voter intimidation effort in Fulton County, Georgia, just as fellow Republican Governor – and Taylor Robson campaign chair – Jan Brewer has done.
This press conference follows the Trump Administration’s raid on election warehouses in Fulton County, Georgia. As part of this raid, federal officials seized ballots from the 2020 election under the false guise of election interference, even though President Trump's top election security official previously hailed the election as “the most secure in American history.”
Biggs was credited with helping to plan the January 6 attack on the Capitol and with ignoring the Congressional subpoena that followed. Taylor Robson called the 2020 election “unfair” and refused to say whether she would have certified the election. David Schweikert voted against certifying Pennsylvania’s 2020 electoral votes.
Former Coconino County Recorder Patty Hansen:
“It's telling that Karrin Taylor Robson’s own campaign chair, former Gov. Jan Brewer, along with other Republican leaders, has the courage to denounce Trump’s attacks on voters — that’s putting Arizona first. Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert have refused to say anything — a choice that serves their Washington, D.C. party bosses, not Arizonans.”
Attorney and Voting Rights Advocate Alex Gulotta:
“We’ve seen where this rhetoric leads: harassment of election workers, threats to public servants, and an erosion of trust that takes years to rebuild. The three Republicans running for governor are choosing to fuel that fire, and Arizona voters should take note.”
Arizona Alliance of Retired Americans, Lin Ogburn:
“Specifically, this legislation [ the SAVE Act] threatens to undermine vote-by-mail, which is important to me because it’s not always easy for seniors like myself and my husband to get to a polling site. The truth is, many older Americans have voted by mail safely for decades. Arizonans have voted by mail, including Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs, who have voted by mail for the last 20 years.”
