A “Blue Christmas” for Arizona Families: Biggs, Taylor Robson, Schweikert Back Tariffs That Are Spiking Electronics Prices

With just days to go before Christmas, Arizona families are relentlessly hunting for deals on gifts and stocking stuffers but facing a “Blue Christmas” as a result of tariffs backed by Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert that are sending the prices of electronics soaring.
Thanks to tariffs, some estimates show that holiday shoppers could see an additional $186 tax on electronics, the largest increase of any gift category. One expert lamented that these added costs will likely force families to cut back on gifts or take on extra debt, calling it “a choice no one wants to have to make.”
Biggs and Schweikert voted twice against an effort to stop the cost-hiking tariffs. Biggs even called tariffs a “brilliant economic strategy,” and Schweikert bragged that he speaks to the White House about tariffs “every other day,” and is “doing the calculations.” Taylor Robson has argued that Trump should go further in raising costs for Arizona families, tweeting her full support for more tariffs, “Keep fighting, Mr. President!”
Copper State Victory spokesperson Nicholas Simões Machado said:
“Because of the reckless, cost-hiking tariffs backed by Andy Biggs, Karrin Taylor Robson, and David Schweikert, Arizona families are paying more for electronics this holiday season. While working families are forced to cut back or take on extra debt, Biggs, Taylor Robson, and Schweikert continue to put their extreme, partisan Washington agenda ahead of Arizona families.”
